At heart, Rag & Bone Bindery is a family affair. What began in 1990 as a shared interest in bookbinding and all things bookish between owners Jason Thompson and Ilira Steinman has grown into more than 36 years of making books together. Today, every Rag & Bone Bindery book is bound by hand in our historic mill building in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with the same attention to craftsmanship, materials, and timeless design that has defined our work from the beginning.

I ordered a beautiful silver-vegan-leather + gold-engraved officiant's binder for my sister's wedding and was able to both look great while officiating, holding it and looking like a pro plus the fact that it matched their color scheme, but then was even prouder to print a finalized version of the ceremony and place it in the page protectors and give it to them to put on their wedding keepsake shelf along with other photos and dried flowers etc. as a beautiful memory. they have told me they've already read the ceremony through a few times, since in the moment they had so many thoughts running through their head!, and they love that the binder itself is beautiful enough to be displayed, let alone the personal-nature of the pages inside of it. the inscription was beautifully done and simple, and overall I was so thrilled with this for practical use and nostalgic gifting! thanks, rag&bone bindery!
