At heart, Rag & Bone Bindery is a family affair and we promise authenticity, quality, and care with every book we make. What began in 1990 as a shared interest in bookbinding and all things bookish between owners Jason Thompson & Ilira Steinman has endured for over 30 years as a unique bookbinding studio with a history rooted in fine craftsmanship and classic design. All of our Albums and Journals are bound by hand in our renovated historic mill building located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
My items are going to house irreplaceable items from my past. It took me weeks to find a company that would treat those items with the same respect that I feel they deserve. (The scrapbook aisle at Michael's made me recoil in horror.) I had a great conversation over the phone about what I was intending to do and received good counsel about how to approach the job. The quality is refreshing in an age of just-okay-done-cheap.
